Rabi' al-Thani, "the second spring", is the fourth month of the Islamic calendar. It is also called Rabi' al-Akhir, "the last spring", and you will see both names on printed calendars.
The two Rabi' months took their names from the spring season in which they fell when the months were named. Because the Hijri year is lunar, they now pass through every season.
No particular act of worship is prescribed for this month. In parts of South Asia the 11th is associated with the memory of Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Jilani, the scholar of Baghdad who died in 561 AH.
